Although I live in Munich, something boring something exciting, I 'd prefer Monte Carlo, Lisbon and Venice, because they are in coast. Interior cities are not that exciting ones. In Germany the better ones are Kiel, Hamburg, Berlin and Frankfurt. Barcelona is also an almost good one.
Cities I do not like much: Stuttgart, Paris, Brussels Indifferent ones: Madrid, London Really saying I prefer Miami, Forth Lauderdale, Fortaleza and something in that direction as European ones. |
Physical_Aspect: Other than its skyscrapers, how is Frankfurt forward looking? I'd consider cities like London, Madrid, Barcelona, Moscow and in Germany, Munich or Berlin, as the cities which are reinventing themselves - purely in building terms.

Istanbul, Athens, Rome, Florence.
Not one of those I love for anything having to do with skyscrapers though. |
Barcelona
Paris Bologna :D Ljubljana Dubrovnik |
Paris
London Florence, Rome Europe is loaded with fantastic small and medium sized cities, and villages, as we all know. Something special in each, too, which makes tourism there unbeatable. I put Paris first, w/ a bit of a long heart as I love London so, but every time I vist Paris I am taken aback at beauty on such a scale. I always think, "Damn...good job France!" Paris is the jewel of Europe. |
Its all about Naples baby!!!!!

And
Warsaw - Poland the fastest growing economy of europe and one of the most attractive skyline around at the moment http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi.../Warsaw3ge.jpg http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi.../Warsaw6vb.jpg http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi.../Warsaw7ob.jpg http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...alac_Nauki.jpg http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...Warsaw12ep.jpg |
1.Belgrade
2.Madrid 3.Paris 4.Cannes 5.Warsaw |
I wouldn't be so sure if Poland is "the fastest growing economy in Europe" (I recon this title goes to either Latvia or Estonia with a GDP growth of 10-12% last year) but Warsaw's got a nice skyline nonetheless

1. Florence
2. Venice 3. Vienna When i say Europe, i say culture and great architecture  |
5. Sevilla
4. Madrid 3. Lisboa 2. London 1. Paris (not just in Europe - on Earth) These are the only ones I've been to, but after visiting Europe for the first time last summer I'm anxious to get to some more soon. European cities are simply stunning. |
I didn't visit all Europe (i visited so little actually), still:
By living standads (fun, crowds, things to do): Constantinople: this is simply the best in the world. In Italy I'd say Rome is the funnier. London and UK was a huge disappointment (after midnight nobody is around). Honorable mention: Sevilla By beauty (geographical setting): 1- Constantinople: again, it's unique, 2 continents, 2 seas, 2 water bodies, and the hills and forest and islands. Honorable mentions: Venice: well, it's just in the water. Rome: seven hills, lots of panoramic view Naples: Vesuvio in the background, sea in the front San Gimignano: amazing, at the top of an hill in the tuscanian country. Assisi: top of an higher hill:D By beauty (historical arts and buildings): 1- Constantinople (again:D ): well, if you love byzantine art (like I do), it's simply overwhelming. Ottoman, ancient, modern and even italian arts are standouts. Honorable mentions: Florence: my hometown! Art at pure state. Venice: unique (a mix of byzantine and italian art) Rome: if you love roman art as well as baroque art, is the place to go. Granada: Alhambra, a dream. |

another good memory: in one of those desert nights, we entered randomly a place and there was a jazz concert in a pub with rather adult to old people... and one of them started talking about how much better is to have the pubs and places closed early instead of having them running all night long like in southern Europe. it was just the fact that we didn't really know where to go actually... but it's still different from Italy or Turkey (and Montreal :D ) where the party is also (often mainly) in the street. |
Europe is full of amazing cities. It's hard to decide on just one.
Here are my favorites: London Paris Zurich Geneva Lisbon Marseille Monte Carlo Florence Rome Venice Madrid Barcelona I'm probably missing some, but those are the cities that I like the most. IMO, London along with New York City are the only two cities that can take on the title of "Greatest City on Earth." |
My favourites:
Bratislava Prague Krakow Budapest Vienna |
Major Cities/Tourist Places I've been to: London, Paris, Brussels, Bruge, Amsterdam, Cologne, Berlin, Munich, Luzern, Geneva, and Milan....
Keep in mind I only travel during the winter because it's the cheapest - I hope to change that when I make a little more cash :) Overall Favourites: 1) London 3) Cologne 4) Munich Most Beautiful: 1) Bruge! 2) Amsterdam 3) Luzern Most Disappointing (Reality v. Expectations) 1) PARIS! 2) Milan Least Favourite: 1) Brussels I still desperately need to visit the south of Italy and Spain, as I'm sure I'd absolutely love the cities there! |
