Glass/Facade going up has been very paced and slow throughout the whole build, they haven't just stopped.
|
have been told from a commercial subcontractor there are some glass shortages/supply chain issues going on right now. not on that job but just in general

I spotted Domain Tower II today from South I-35. This is about 2 miles north of the Hays County line (just north of SH-45). The distance is 19 miles. I may also have spotted it last week from the Tractor Supply parking lot in Buda that is inside Hays County. That location is 22 miles away. I'll try to get a photo from there and see if that's what it was I was seeing. I know you can see The Independent from that spot, and even Pinnacle Campus and Palisades West show up there. It's hard to tell here, but it's on the left side of the photo left of the radio tower.

It's not tall and shiny and blue, but it technically is a high rise. St. David's North Austin Medical Center at 12221 North Mopac is expanding their St. David's Women's Services of Texas wing, which is at 12221 Renfert Way. They're adding 4 floors to the building for a total of 7.
The FAA permit says it'll be 120 feet. https://oeaaa.faa.gov/oeaaa/external...0663962&row=14 They're also adding another section on the south side of the hospital that will go up to 95 feet. That section may be under construction already, and there was an FAA permit for a 195 foot crane. Map: https://www.google.com/maps/place/St.../data=!3m1!1e3 Quote:

All three of my kids were born in that hospital. Great team there.

Serious question: do we ever think parts of the domain will someday be pedestrian only? I feel like I make this complaint at least once a year, but I find the domain gets worse and worse for peds (and drivers) ....each year. It's not just the road layout that seems like it was designed by a Simon Mall exec's assistant on their iphone, it's the sheer difficulty of having zero traffic lights / only four way stops everywhere.
Personally it feels all unsustainable and temporary to me atm. |

It's already safe. Drivers just need to pay attention and yield the right of way. Pedestrians must cross at crosswalks and not jay-walk any random place. Problem solved. The domain is nice. Not as nice as La Cantera in SA but nice. So much housing! Those aerial shots are mind boggling. And when domain 9 is done? Oof :slob:

The Domain is very dangerous for pedestrians. Traffic lights would solve alot of problems. Already there is almost accidents at every intersection because cars refuse to yield right of way or stop at the stop signs.
