CityBoyDoug & HossC, thanks for the interesting Gilmore truck photos with the neon. It says the color scheme was blue, green and orange. Does anyone know if that was Gilmore's colors they used for all of their endeavors?
I happened to see this other photo today of a Gilmore truck, dated 1939. One of those gentlemen is Earl Gilmore. http://hollywoodphotographs.com/phot...ISC-1939-2.jpg B.Torrence/H.P. |

http://jpg3.lapl.org/pics05/00022233.jpgLAPL Scene of the Raymond car bombing. "This photo was taken on the morning of January 14, shortly after Harry Raymond stepped on the starter of his car and set off the planted bomb that blew out the sides of his garage and sent hundreds of pieces of metal tearing into his body." This excerpt taken from the caption that appeared with this photo in the L.A. Herald Examiner. Harry Raymond's problem was that he didn't have Mike Hammer around to clue him in that there was a bomb attached to his car. http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps376c0615.jpg Kiss Me Deadly, MGM, 1955 |

Great, great picture--the Times bldg so close to new. But why spend $400 when it's now on the web for $0? I'd probably have put a watermark on it... |

The seller's other photo showing Main north of 5th in 1886 is superb, as well. The close-up is particularly interesting in its details. |
