We know that LA Live developer AEG wants to build an NFL stadium in South Park, between Staples Center and the 110. And we know that as part of the plan it'll also build a new Convention Center hall with a new public plaza, and it'll help expand the 101 and the Metro station at Pico. But what hasn't been discussed much is the work AEG intends to do on seven blocks of Francisco Street stretching from the Financial District to the new Farmers Field area--they want to convert the stretch into a bustling link called the Avenue of Angels. . . . . Isn't that where Metropolis is going? Or is that part of the plan? Either way, I'm really liking what I see in that rendering!

Yeah, but the metropolis project design has probably changed quite a bit since we last heard from it. So who knows what it'll look like.

Awesome. The financial district needs this, and LA needs this. I hope it goes through (and the NFL team would be nice too...)

Just to give a scale of the area of this project. The large parking lot is where the long stalled Metropolis (a 4 tower development that's been proposed and redesigned for almost 30 years) is to rise.

What's under construction is the 23 story Marriott Courtyard and Residences.

I really dislike the name Ave of the Angels though. The main north/south street in this area is Francisco Street. Why not just call it Francisco Street?

So when will the construction begin, and when will it be completed?

I think a city has to be pretty hard up for a hotel development, to allow Marriott to build something, and get by with hiring dimestore architects, and the dimestore quality of the development!:yuck:

Marriott built three hideous devopments here in Las Vegas, and with all the competition, with far better design work, I'm surprised they didn't invest a little more into their designs.:yuck:

And God forbid, they should add balconies!!!

Where are the grafitti artists when you need them the most!!!
