St. Louis Looks HOT (and Warm Too) - Check Out My Hood

So, last week on a hot, 90F+ day, I rode my bike to Schnucks (local grocery store) with some friends. I just had to bring my camera along and I snapped some photos along the way of the Compton Heights and South Grand neighborhoods.

I'd put the median house value in Compton Heights at ~$500,000 plus a few million dollar homes; and keep in mind, St. Louis housing prices are very cheap, so they would be MUCH more pricey in most ther cities. South Grand is a very urban and gritty neighborhood in St. Louis with great diversity, great cuisine, and nice, but relatively cheap houses.

These photos prolly aren't quite great because I never got off my bike to take them, my camera is cheap, and I just photograph urban stuff because it inetersets me, so sorry if a few are a little blurry or crooked. Great job Aaron. Yet another great St. Louis City neighborhood caught on film.

A little more about the Compton Water Tower.

"One of only seven surviving such towers in the United States (two others are also in St. Louis), it was listed on the National Registry of Historic Places in 1972. It sits in Reservoir Park, flanked by a large, classic statue that celebrates the city's newspaper heritage, a lily pond and walking paths. The park is always open to the public, while the Tower itself is frequently open for touring. It is owned by the St. Louis Water Division and maintained through the joint efforts of the Division and the Water Tower & Park Preservation Society."

Not bad! That Spanish home looks like 1000s of similar homes in the LA region. And one question, is #15 a Bosnian mosque?

#15 is the Compton Water Tower. St. Louis does have a very large bosnian population though and plans are together for a 108ft minaret.
