Great photos. I saw they cleaned up Michigan Avenue really nice Sunday night.
Its not as bad as it looks.

I guess one could look in your childrens toybox for ideas on the next mindless HoLLywoOd franchise movie!! Its all about great special effects, not so much about a good script.

Looks very realistic, amazing. I think it is pretending to be LA in this scene, right?

^^not sure, what makes you say that?

I've added more pics from last night. another major fight scene!

If its supposed to be an L.A. scene, why would they have Chicago police cars, an east Chicago fire truck, and Evanston cabs?

Rizzo

It's been amazing watching this. We run out to the fire escape of the Gurantee building everytime they say "cameras rolling"

Just incredible photos, especially that first one.

From what I've been told, Chicago will be representing Chicago in the movie.

Anyways, the pile up of cars looks like typical rush hour. I've seen some horrendous accidents on Wacker and Michigan that could easily compete with some of the scenes.

I think you have it backwards, LA normally has shoots that represent other cities. This is an on location shoot as Chicago is the movies main location. They also shot scenes in LA that are supposed to be in Chicago for this movie. They will be shooting in Chicago until early/mid August.

Very cool. Now NIMBY's live in Downtown LA it is getting more and more difficult to film here when Downtown needs to substitute other cities.

Please man, we are in the modern age, people only care about the superficial makeup of movies these days. Good scripts, actors, and movies have all became irrelevant.

That last explosion was amazing.

I can't believe how they cleaned it all up the other night. This morning it was like nothing ever happened.

Back to normal I guess. It was definitely a fun run.

Still shooting this week. Here is a video article from Crains. It really only effects a very small area of downtown, so I think its a good thing. Hollywood is all about the look. Since downtown Chicago looks very good they love it here(until the robots trash it) .

Sorry to bump an old thread, but as per the Superbowl teaser for Dark of the Moon, it looks like this is actually going to be a Chicago disaster movie. The burning city is featured almost the entire length of the teaser. As someone who enjoys "Bayhem," this pleases me greatly.

pause it at the :10 mark and the clip does not make sense. looks like the image is mirrored. the john hancock is on fire while navy pier appears north of it. for some reason details like that bother me. kinda like in waynes world where non of the driving scenes in chicago make any sense.

Looks like typical Hollywood. They picked an angle they liked and added all their favorite buildings to the background. Should still have some great scenes. The writing will also be typical Hollywood(mindless).

LOL, look at the Olympia Center, it's tipped at a precarious angle.

yeah, they did that with TF1 the fight was in LA but they had shots of downtown Detroit in it, I wonder if they thought anyone would notice.:D

There was even a scene with the abandon train station.

It kind of bugged me that they did they added another Aqua and I wonder why. Is Harbor Point copyrighted or something? I know Marina City has rules for the use of its image, but that was in the film at fairly close shots

It just seemed like an odd decision, especially because its in some shots and not others.
