Nice picture's here, for some reason they leave me feeling half depressed though... oh well, Ive never been to Buffalo and I must say it doesn't look like exactly a "happening" place... at least not downtown.

What's on a Buffalo Dog?
I mean a Coney is a Coney, a slaw dog is from the south, a Chicago Dog has a garden piled on top of it.

I wish I'd taken pictures of different Dog places like the Varsity and Weiner's Circle.

I love seeing all those conversion projects. Soon people will be back living in downtown Buffalo to make it that happening place.

Also, you don't suck at taking pictures.

verdad... downtown is not the prettiest or most vibrant part of buffalo but it is making a HUGE comeback. you should have seen it just 10 years ago. i dont think any of those lofts existed. I think/ hope in ten years more its going to be poppin.

p.s. to the author thank you for not making another generic central terminal/bethlehem steel thread. it was good to see all those new lofts in one thread. but you missed my favorite building... the liberty :)

Nice pictures. Downtown and the Theater District are two areas that I have not had time to really explore. With all of the time that I spend in Buffalo, you would think that I would've walked around the central area a lot more.

Any plans to share these on SSC as well?

Those are really nice pictures. It gives me hope that Buffalo might experience some sort of comeback. The potential is certainly there. Thanks!

I read somewhere that we have the most locally owned chocolate companies than any other place in the country. If you haven't had Fowlers, Watson's, Parkside, Niagara or Choco Logo...you have to try! :D

Great tour wigs! You showed me more of the diversity of Buffalo architecture than any other Buffalo thread I can remember.

I really like the Sidway building. It is quite beautiful.
Also, on the other hand I really like all the modern medical and office buildings. Some pretty nice ones in there.

You took some very nice pictures. I don't think you're camera sucked. Buffalo seems to be a nice city - too bad people always refer to it as a "rust belt" city!

thanks everyone for the kind words. I've been following Buffalo's development since 2002 before I moved here to go to school. I must say, knowing Buffalo's history, more construction/development has happened in the past 6 years than the previous 30!

oh and how could i forget the Guaranty Building (cousin of the Wainwright in St. Louis by Louis Sullivan). located down the street from Webb Lofts:

http://img158.imageshack.us/img158/9000/guarantybuildingjz2.jpg

jodelli, a "Buffalo dog" or "Texas hot" is a charbroiled (usually local Sahlen's brand) hot dog slathered with a hot chili like ground beef sauce with mustard and onions preferably accompanied by onion rings and a Loganberry drink.

my fav. is Ted's: http://www.tedsonline.com/

Found a rend. of the "new" Dulski Fed. Bldg. on buffalorising and I shuttered. Although the old facade fit in with the typical plain Jane federal looks, I would have left it. I looked at the gutted 10th floor where I swore into the Navy back in '83. It's gonna be too frigging weird when it's completed.

For some reason I missed this thead when it was posted a couple days ago, but I'm glad I found it. We haven't had a good Buffalo thread on this forum in a long time. Nice to see downtown. It does look as though it's starting to make somewhat of a comeback. I hope it continues! (and yay for Tim Hortons appearing!!!) :D
