I had a blast in Seattle. Now, I have been to Seattle several times in the last few years. In fact, I worked in Seattle for about half a year back in 2002. However, this is the first time I have ever stayed in a downtown hotel. I went with 2 friends to attend a concert at the Wamu Theater and we just walked downtown up and down. It was amazing and we had a blast. The only time we didn't walk was at night because I figured it would change face alot. And it looked like it did.

So I guess my whole point is that I actually got out of the suburbs and got to spend alot of time downtown and it was amazing. I love Seattle!!

Oh and a funny note. We walked from the Seattle Center to Qwest Field and counted 17 Starbucks.:D

Only 17 Starbucks? Sounds like there's still room for more!

Glad you had a good time!

No, there's way more than 17. Columbia Tower, Union Square 2...

I counted 64 on Google Earth from Denny Way down to Qwest Field and from the Waterfront to I-5. I'm pretty sure some of those got counted twice or even more times though.

LOL! Ya, we counted 17 in just one trip. Had we actually went on a mission for them I was sure that we could have found alot more.

Also, is there an observation deck in Columbia Tower?

There is - it's on the 73rd floor and doesn't go all the way around the building. I think it's only open weekdays. The best views are from the Columbia Tower Club on the 76th floor but that's a private club so you have to know someone who belongs (or go to one of the numerous fundraising events that are held there) to get in.

Also, while I forgot the exact floor, there is a Starbucks about halfway up the tower just in case you had trouble finding one around the city... ;)

As for the observation deck, I visited about a month back and it is $5 per person, you pay at the base of the tower and you will be escorted up. It is indeed only open on week days though.

The view doesn't go all the way around but it's still great if you don't have access to the club that's 3 floors up. You can still go around about 70% of the tower, so it's good.

'Hope this info helps.

The Starbucks is on the 40th floor.

And if we had to say that in a way that indicates how many times I've been up there, the Starbucks is on the 1200th floor.
