Haven't voted (yet). But the Central District doesn't go anywhere near the lake.

⇑I was just going to state that picture of Lake Washington is hardly representative of the Central District, but mhays beat me.

I know, I couldn't find a picture of a drug dealer so I just put a picture from the I-90 bridge. I guess that's the Central District? Right?

Madrona, Jackson, Mt. Baker, all in the Central District.

You forgot Greenwood.
I like that neighborhood a lot... some funky restaurants and shops.

I hope you were joking.

Also, Madrona and Mt. Baker are not in the CD.

What the hell is the "South Aurora" neighborhood?

You're also missing some key ones: Ballard, Fremont, Wallingford, Columbia City are a few that come to mind. Further, White Center is generally considered to be south of the Seattle City limits.

I can add Ballard and Greenwood. None of these are in neighborhoods (not that I know of) but near each other. Like Wallingford, I can't put all of them up there, the poll won't let me, so I just put in the Green Lake area. Fremont too and that's why I added South Aurora, not a neighborhood but an area near Green Lake. Mt. Baker could be in Rainier Beach I guess.

I gave smaller ones their own "vote" since they are nearer downtown. Like Chinatown. Columbia City is in Rainier Beach.

Central District According to Wikipedia:
Central District, Central Area, or "the CD" (Central Area map [18])

* Atlantic (including Judkins Park)[42]
* Cherry Hill
* Harrison or Denny-Blaine
* Leschi
* Madrona
* Mann
* Minor (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seattle_neighborhoods)

Took out White Center and changed it with Pioneer Square.

Wikipedia isn't a reliable source apparently. The CD is a much smaller area.

Your concept is interesting, but these zones don't make sense.

Ballard isn't listed, but that's one of my favorite spots - lot of friends there.

Another Link from the city of Seattle. Central Area is small:

Central Area Map (http://clerk.ci.seattle.wa.us/public/nmaps/html/NN-1280S.htm)

Added Ballard.

I don't want to be harsh, but you don't know what you're talking about.

The City map isn't talking about the same thing. It's doesn't even say "Central District" or "CD". It uses "Central Area" out of convenience, not because its map matches anything people use. The CD is basically what they're calling "Minor," "Mann," and "Atlantic" (north of I-90). Nobody uses those terms either. Governments put maps together for administrative purposes, and generally not because they want to match districts to cultural vibe/reality.

If you want to know about the CD, here are some better sources.

Here's an interesting set of boundaries that's reasonable: Madison on the north, 31st Street on the east, Interstate 90 on the south, and 12th Avenue on the west...
