Interesting. It's good seeing these West Texas cities trying to revitalize their downtowns. Some of them really need it. Midland was a ghost town when I visited. Lubbock is a little better. Amarillo and Abilene actually seem pretty well off.

This is good news. I live in Abilene and as stated above, things have improved here a lot. For many, many years NOBODY went anywhere near downtown Abilene but now there's all kinds of cool places to go like coffee shops, restaurants, museums, etc. in downtown Abilene that are now hot spots with us locals. It's almost totally changed the atmosphere of our little city so it's really good to see Lubbock planning some major improvements as well.
