My birthday is next weekend, and I was thinking of having a dinner for about 12-15 people. I am looking for a BJs/Yardhouse type restaurant in DTLA...any of those downtown? If not, Are there any $8-15 average type, nice, and good restaurants anyone may suggest?! I can have my b-day dinner in the inland empire (where my parents live), but I would rather support DTLA somehow. My dad loves brewed beer and I like the sports bar/restaurant typish places... Please help.

Trifecta at 2nd & Hill. Newly remodeled and I heard they reduced the food prices (previously hamburgers for $15!)

I would recommend the Bonaventure Brewing Company. Good food, as well as microbrew. The view on the patio is also pretty outstanding.

I went to Mode today--only to find a sign that said it was closed due to water damage from the rain. Is this place ever going to open?

I had a birthday dinner once at Pete's (4th and Main) with about the same number of guests that eventually ballooned into about 50 people. Not really a sports bar and not as raucous as a BJ's/Yardhouse but it ended up being a great night.

Pete's and Bonaventure Brewing Co. are both awesome venues. Bonaventure may be able to handle a large number of diners though, since Pete's gets crowded most nights.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Mode close for good soon.

^ How come no one has mentioned Weiland's????? They have a great happy hour, one of which lasts from 10 to close

^ Don't go to the one at 5th/Flower! The most terrible service ever, and I'm not the only one to think so.

Their 1st/Central location is pretty good from what I hear.

Just don't go to the Palm. Nice setting, good service, but way over priced american food, that was mostly bland in my opinion. About the only thing that was memorable was the bread.
