where would I go to get in contact with the US customs agency? I went to what appeared to be there website, but they provided dick all for contact info. for what I could see.

my two big questions are this:

If I'm flying east, and a ticket is cheaper in Bellingham or Seattle than it is in Vancouver; am I allowed to get a ride down there, and fly to my destination with no legal penalties for myself or the person whom I ride with (they can re-cross border after)

If yes to the above question, do I still need the passport? I'm wondering if because I am now flying domestically within the United States, all I need is my usual identification.

would be nice for a link to the place where I can ask these, although if one of you guys knows for sure, it would be nice.

Here's the page with the info you need.

http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/travel/id_visa/visitors_us/

I don't think it's a problem for you to come over the border to fly out, and your ride should be able to reenter Canada with no problem. People from Seattle fly out of YVR all the time.

Don't you need your passport now to enter the US? I thought we needed them to go north now (or soon).

At air entry ports we need them, but not at land entry. which is why i'm wondering if I'll need one for the domestic airspace.

Edit - really didn't help much. Would be nice if there was simply an email address I could fire off the questions too.
