Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie buy house in French Quarter
Superstar actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have purchased a 3-story mansion in the Lower French Quarter at a cost of $3.5 million, according to several local real estate agents.
At almost 7,500 square feet, the renovated masonry mansion — in a largely residential and leafy section of the Quarter — has 8 bedrooms and 5 full bathrooms. Though the home has a demure street presence, agents say it is richly appointed with elaborate chandeliers, a grand spiral staircase, elevator and gourmet kitchen. The property is also very private, with a large courtyard, off-street parking and a guesthouse.
Pitt is currently in New Orleans filming “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,“ and has been working locally since Hurricane Katrina with Global Green USA, a national organization committed to stemming global climate change and other efforts.
