112.5 meters = 4387.50 inches = 121.87 feet x's 3 = 365.61 feet to top of solar chimney
96.5 meters = 3763.50 inches = 104.54 feet x's 3 = 313.62 feet to the top of the roof
Hope this helps......
MB Hydro building will definitely be amongst the tallest buildings in Winnipeg - at least for now as I hear there's some other TALL plans for the city.

^Or even 30 floors. Higher is always welcome as far as I'm concerned:cool:
Coming over the Donald st. bridge to work every day, I loved when the building started to rise above the others, but alas, it only rose so far. Still a great looking building and for sure a welcome addition to the skyline.

Mar 11, 2008, 8:23 PM
Either way, this is a great addition to the skyline. :)
When they bring in the solar chimney, then it would add more height to the building.
Let's hope the building will spawn more future buildings of "higher" magnitude in the future.

Mar 12, 2008, 3:06 AM
A huge fireplace and a hot cocoa stand at the base of the chimney would "complete" the building in my opinion - well during the winter that is...

A) either everybody's busy and looking away in the pics
B) no one's in the pics, and it looks like no one works there

Its style definitely reminds me of the two newest Concordia University building and the recent Caisse de Dépot et de Placement building in Montréal.
Nice asset on Winnipeg's skyline !!

It must be interesting to work inside those glass enclosures so many storeys up. I bet the moment the workers get encased in glass, they "feel" a little more "safe" than when NOT enclosed into anything!
Great pics Adrian!
