Interesting Facts/Records (in own words): Tall lattice towers from unusual design. Tower is a lattice tower with circular cross section, similiar to the towers which the Russian engineer Vladimir Shukhov built.

Tower is used as electricity pylon for crossing Bay of Cadiz by the 132 kV-powerline from Puerto Real Substation to substation Térmica at Cádiz.
The span width of powerline over Bay of Cadiz is 1600 metres. The powerline is spun between Matagorda Pylon and Puntales Pylon, which may be identically.

The tower is a well known-landmark. It is often mentioned in books about tower construction. So it is mentioned in the German book "Türme aller Zeiten - aller Kulturen" (3rd edition), Deutsche Verlags-Anstalt, Stuttgart (Germany) , ISBN 3-421-02931-8, 1997; pp. 261.
