Springfield, Massachusetts BayBank Tower (an International Style skyscraper by Pietro Belluschi and Eduardo Catalano) was renamed Tower Square in the early 1990s, after BayBank merged with another New England bank.
Currently, the skyscraper houses many offices for Springfield's Fortune 100 financial company MassMutual. "MassMutual" is thus written in blue-lettering across the top of the building.
The building was largely spared damage during the June 1, 2011 tornado -- New England's 2nd strongest on record (after the 1953 Worcester tornado.)
