Interesting Facts/Records (in own words): This chimney, which is nicknamed "Cuno"
was built in 1982 for Cuno Power Station, a coal-fired power station inaugaurated between 1927 and
1932 in order to better conduct the exhaust of the power station from Ruhr Valley.
Cuno Power Station got its coal by a special funicular, which was able to transport rail cars.
Cuno Power Station was shut-down in 2004. Demolition of most buildings of the station, including
the special funicular started in 2005, in order to create place for a modern gas-fired power station.
The chimney is today nearly unused. However it offers a breeding possibility for peregrine falcons
in a height of 80 metres.
