Interesting Facts/Records (in own words): Free-standing lattice tower used for an overhorizon radio
relay link to West-Berlin. The link was capable of transmitting 15 phone calls and a single radio program.
The antennas were dipole arrays on the top.

After completion of Sendemast Gartow 1 ( http://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=46673 ) in 1963, it
got more and more unused and in 1970 it was dismantled by using a crane.

The transmission facility of Höhbeck played a very important role for telecommunication between former
West-Berlin and former Western Germany from 1950 until German Reunification.
The overhorizon radio relay links were until the installation of the radio relay link between "Sendemast Gartow2" ( http://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=46674 ) and
"Sendemast Berlin-Frohnau" ( http://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=8946), the only link between West-Berlin and West Germany
not using infrastructure of GDR, which was very important in cold war time!
