Interesting Facts/Records (in own words): Aussichtsturm Schwarzer Grat is a wooden observation tower
on a basement floor of concrete. Its structure is not open, so one is protected at ascent and descent to the
observation deck by bad weather. It is situated on summit of Schwarzer Grat, a 1118 metres high mountain
near Isny.

In 1984 former SWF, the former public broadcasting company of Southern Baden-Württemberg ( now fusioned with SDR to SWR), planned
the erection of a 300 metres tall FM-broadcasting mast on Schwarzer Grat. The project was cancelled for ecological reasons.

Instead at some existing transmitter sites new transmitters were installed.
If this mast was realized with this height, it would have got the tallest manmade structure in a radius of 200 kilometres
and one of the highest elevated supertall structures in Europe!
