Interesting Facts/Records (in own words): The masts of this transmitter were until the construction of
Tokyo Tower in 1958 the tallest architectural structures in Japan.

The antenna system of NHK Kawaguchi Transmitter consisted of 2 312.78 metres tall guyed lattice steel mast in a
distance of 463 metres. Between these masts a wire was spun. On the half distance of both masts, the 264 metres
long antenna wire run down to the dome-like helix building, where the radio power to be transmitted was fed in.

The antenna of NHK Kawaguchi Transmitter was a T-antenna with less skywave radiation. The same antenna could
be also realized with a single mast radiator insulated against ground with a height of approximately 260 metres.
However such an antenna was not realized for this transmitter, as the technology of building large mast radiators
was not very well developed in Japan at those days. The height of the masts was so chosen, that they influence the
field radiated by the antenna ( in fact, there height is with nearly 5/8 of wavelength showing less influence of
radiation pattern).

In 1982 the transmitter was shut-down after a new facility was built and 2 year later the masts were dismantled by
using a crane. The basement of the masts and of the guys are still there,
