I was inspired by Hed Kandi's other architecture thread. I totally agree with him that we need some better architecture here, but why not take a look at the progress Vancouver has been making as of late. I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that things appear to be slowly but steadily improving recently.
So... let's hear all your thoughts and opinions on the newest of Vancouver's buildings whether they be recently completed, under construction, approved or proposed. Please post an image of the project when discussing a new (previously unmentioned) project.

I'll play it safe and start off with one project that I'm sure most here will agree should be a great addition to the city's architectural stock...

While some may not be too keen on starchitects, a few buildings in this city by internationally renowned architects couldn't hurt. While I really have no idea what 2 of the 4 sides of this building will look like, the north and west faces look great. I'm a real fan of the lack of balconies - gives it a much cleaner look. The integration with the heritage buildings at the base is great too and is still quite unique for Vancouver but I'm sure could become more common as development creeps into the DTES. While it's a shame it couldn't be a more prominent (ie taller) building, at least it will stand head and shoulders above most other condo towers in the city.
Overall this is definitely the caliber of architecture Vancouver needs to strive for more often. As far as I'm concerned this is a beautiful, modern design that could compete with any residential building design anywhere in the world (assuming height isn't a major factor).
