Interesting Facts/Records (in own words): The tower, situated on 639 metres high Ring Mountain (German: Ringberg), is one of the oldest lattice towers in Germany. Tower, which was built by Wilk Eisenach, is the only observation tower in Northwest-Thuringia.
Its observation decks can be reached by a stair with 111 steps. Tower is a well-known tourist attraction. Carl-Alexander-Turm is also available as scale model for model trains ( http://www.tt-modelleisenbahn.de/07modelle/zubehoer.htm )
available at Weidlich, Modellbau.

Tower was renovated in 1932, 1952, 1959, 1975 and 1989.

Tower was built as replacement of a wooden tower, which was named after duke Carl Alexander, built in 1867 and collapsed in 1896.
