Interesting Facts/Records (in own words): This mast was used until 1990 for transmitting the radio program of "Ferienwelle", a radio programme for people making the holiday on Rugenia Island.
Since 2001 it is used for the first regular 24 hour digital mediumwave transmitter, which transmits in the DRM-mode the program of "Deutschlandradio".

Masts from similiar ( identic?) design exist or existed at many transmitter sites in former Eastern Germany.

Putbus is situated on Rugenia ( German: RĂ¼gen), Germany's largest island, which is connected with a fix link ( combination of bridges and dams) with the German mainland. At Putbus, there is the terminal of "Racing Roland" (German: Rasender Roland), a famous narrow gauge railway with steam traction. This railway runs after leaving Putbus in close proximity to the mentioned mast, near which there is also a second free-standing lattice tower.
