Interesting Facts/Records (in own words): The building has a three-storey 50-foot octagonal tower, located at Signal Hill National Historic Park. Classified Federal Heritage Building, it sits overlooking the city and ocean on an elevation of about 470 ft, and is one of Newfoundland's most famous landmarks. This building is associated with Marconi's first Trans-Atlantic wireless signal, and was built to commemorate the 500th anniversary of John Cabot's voyage in 1497.
