Photo update on the Willow Hotel. Despite its poorly placed setback, it really is shaping out to be a pretty good looking tower. Apparently black vertical struts will be added to the facade to accentuate its verticality. Could be interesting. Too bad the other hotel developers in the city couldn't learn a thing or two from this project. Anyway, to the photos:
Really, really good. Despite being a low building, it has a very good architecture. I loved the details of black braces between the floors. It was very good. Nice glass also.
Absolutely fantastic... I still can't stop thinking how Asian the glass looks. Anyone else seeing this, or is it just me?
If I go to NYC, I would want to stay in this hotel. Where is it, midtown?
Midtown, across the street from One57. The hotel should be fairly high-end, I'd guess a step below Four Seasons/Mandarin but still very nice.
I'm very impressed with the cladding & this is some of the best 'filler' NYC has seen in a while. Demure, conservative, yet still Gotham--the windows really are fantastic.
that short building is the entrance to the Le Parker Meridien hotel....so no it will never be demolished.

You're correct that smaller white archway building is the entrance to the Parker Meridien. However that 50s/60s-ish brick and glass building next to that should one day be redeveloped.
I love how this actually echoes the beautiful building one to its west in the windows. Loving it more and more, and hopefully when the awful DGA brick building two to its east comes down, the design is also compatible with the neighbors...
