Ok, so AT BEST it could be 200ft, but most likely would be 150-160ft... I'll take it.

This could be a real nice building. I think 200' is a good height. Hey maybe some of y'all skyscrapers designers on here should do one for this courthouse.

If all goes as planned, San Antonio’s new federal courthouse will have eight courtrooms, 13 judges’ chambers and take up 305,000 square feet, according to the latest plans submitted this week to Congress for a project that has stalled for more than a decade.

Lake Flato Architects began the new San Antonio court’s design phase a few years ago with half of $12 million the federal government set aside for that aspect, Rodriguez has said. Half of the design phase is done and he said it would take six to eight months to finish the rest.
Looks like this project will move at a snail's pace. Hopefully it will be a timeless type landmark structre like the Tower Life.

The St louis Federal courthouse. I took a few pictures of this buidling when I was in St.Louis back in 2001, it's huge. San Antonio should build something like this, of course San Antonio style.

I hope they redesign the tower and build something like this. (:

That would be awesome. But, this is not up to "San Antonio" as to what is built. It's up to the Federal Government.

That building is hideous...in my opinion.

Wasn't there a rendering that was out on this maybe a year or two ago? The rendering wasn't very tall, and was more spread out. I know that the rendering will not be what we get here, but it makes me think what they may be thinking too. I'm crossing my fingers for something tall like St. Louis too!

Again, the majority of the Federal courthouse has been designed already. Right now they're working on securing funding from Congress. According to that article they're not done with the design yet, but I can't imagine it would be much different than the latest rendering:

So basically it is the same design as St Louis but laid on it's side.

The article did say the design has been in limbo for years and now they can get back to work. There is still just something off about it for me. I'm so glad it was approved though.

The Incredible Shrinking Federal Courthouse

[quoteSan Antonio (Bexar County) - A revised plan for the new San Antonio federal courthouse is in the works that is substantially smaller in actual size compared to previously presented concepts.

The Fort Worth regional office of the General Services Administration held an outreach meeting in San Antonio on Wednesday for general contractors in order to gauge what interest there would be in doing the project through a design-build delivery method.

The outreach meeting came as something of a surprise given the fact that just over 11 months ago the GSA awarded the construction contract to Austin-based White Construction Co.

White Construction, however, is no longer with the project.
When it happens, better it happens with projects like the courthouse. Not a skyscraper we're looking forward to being built.
