The Atlantic Webcam: Update

If you look at the 9:44am and 1:23pm shots there is a guy with blue jeans standing there. I think its two different guys though because close inspection of his shoes revealed that they were slightly different. -- developing

whoa... stop the presses -- check out 7:46am. the standard chair w/ yellow jacket is replaced with a completely different picture of a dude on a computer, and then actually reverts back to the same chair/jacket routine at 8:02, where it still remains.

Looking forward to the next installment. Will be interesting to see whee they mount it in order to get a good view of this big building site. Would be nice if it included the M-Gate,

The same thing happened with the Gallery webcam before it was placed in position. For a week or so, we were treated to the same view inside one of the construction trailers. But we all kept checking!

I actually am glad it sits off. Only because I think this is one that will look better from a far than up close. Not that up close will be bad, but it has some individual presence that would be lost with detail (or lack thereof) and comparison with other buildings. It also will look more towering over there IMHO.

Awesome. I was curious where the camera would be mounted. Now, we can also watch the construction of the monument.

It seems like at the current angle, you won't be able to see the entire height of the building as it grows. I imagine they'll have to tilt it up as the project begins rising to the top.

Although I don't see where it could have been mounted, I think a webcam view showing the midtown skyline would have been a better selling point than the buildings proximity to Ikea...

Agreed. And help give AS more presence in the skyline. Maybe AS will become its own sovereign highrise cluster, but will probably just melt into midtown's skyline.

I think it can accomplish both. From the highways and afar, it will blend (like BOA mixes in). But, it becomes its own cluster when actually in the city. That actually makes for a nice diversity and architectural appeal for the city as a whole.

Same thing with Viewpoint's webcam... speaking of which I would have thought they would have leveled up the horizontal tilt in the cam by now! That just bugs me...
