I will try and get a pic of going south on St. Mary's St towards the tower life building so you can see what I mean.

Thanks man...

I will get some pics comming from the east...and I think the best view of the city from Fredricksburg Rd and Loop 410.

There are also good city views from around Lake Calvaras and just outside of Loop 1604 looking towards Downtown...you can see the Vidorra and all of downtown from these locations.

I found this picture on the web. I think renewed lighting on the bottom would add so much more

Aiphanes,

Is cheezy janes going to stay right in front of the Broadway, or do you think they will end up moving?

I like this building...it is very nice looking but yeah if it lighted on the bottom too..it would be cool. Look at all the empty lots where cars are just parking. These should be underground parking garages with highrises ontop...ala Austin Texas....

And you are right the midding of downtown is weak...that is where ATT should build it new tower..something signature...not brown....

I think cheezy janes is gonna stay. The broadway will block the north winds in the winter so Cheezy Janes is in a good spot!

I wish Frost Bank would tear down their current building and build something like they have in Austin. I am getting tired of beige buildings downtown

Nashville is building a 70 story awesome building. I like the all glass look.

I would take a condo anywhere below the penthouse levels of the signature tower...I think eventually we will get something like this in San Antonio...Look at Austin...they got like 14 all residental tower projects going on at this time!

I did not know nashville was such an awesome looking city...Atlanta too....but Nashville will be better looking and its downtown is kinda small like San Antonio...

Nashville is something else, I really enjoy that city. I was just reading that the man that is trying to get the tower built is having some trouble getting financing because of all the sub prime fall out.

There is a gap in the skyline because of height restrictions along the Riverwalk and around The Alamo.

That seems right...but the tallest buildings in the city are right along the riverwalk. Just look at google earth. So San Antonio needs to build more height around the Vidora (AlamoDome District) and in the North River District, Market Square and Houston Street Districts.
The Vistana in the Market Square\Houston Street Districts...so they could build more Highrises in this district.

San Antonio Districts

Alamo District
Alamodome District Vidorra I
Central Business District
Convention Center District Grand Hyatt
Historic Civic District
Houston Street District Vistana
King William Historic District
La Villita District
Market Square District
North Downtown
North River District
River Bend District
SoSo (South of Southtown)
Southtown
University District.

New mystery building in Stone Oak...

This building is behind Corner Stone Church but is either a Hotel, or small medical complex. You can see this building from 1604...it is just past Stone Oak Blvd. going west on 1604.

Notice it is 5 stories

The shots of the Broadway pit, is that the Olmos Tower in the background? It looks really tall there considering it's only 15 floors.

Great pics by the way. The Grand Hyatt looks really nice there. I'm liking the facade. And Vidorra is really getting up there now.
