Good to hear as this area is starting to boom again. Kahanoff is also slated to start in January or February.

Maybe I am very unobservant but I just noticed in the rendering that the grey cladding inside the white box has some warmer coloured beige panels. Unfortunately rental towers suffer from cheaper materials, so it will be interesting to see how the materials turn out.

This is very good to see. One or two more towers around that area will really help in turning Scarth Street into a nice retail corridor.

Top is stupid, rest is fine. Reminds me of the 3 towers in yaletown on Homer and Smithe.

Protect the 13 Avenue Heritage Greenway

The 26 floor rental building will aggravate the current and extremely scarce parking situation on 13th Avenue. I hope there will be nice curb appeal and landscaping surrounding this building to protect the 13 Avenue Heritage Greenway which the City of Calgary built for approx. $11.3 million of our tax dollars.

How would it aggravate the situation? There will be underground parking for the residents, so basically this tower would help take away some street parking when visitors come to that building. On the flip side, those extra 300 people living there, and their visitors will use the 13th ave greenway. The best thing that could happen to the greenway is people using it.

Within a 2 block radius will be the rental tower (26 floors), Colours (22 floors), Union Square Phase I (26 floors), and Union Square Phase II (to be built). With the added density from the rental tower and Union Square phase II and the potential reduction in street parking spaces, the parking situation will be aggravated. I agree more people will use the 13 avenue heritage greenway (between center and 2nd street SW) but visitors to this area will likely have to park a few blocks away...

Can't argue that. There's no question parking will be tighter. It'd be nice to have a 2 or 3 level public parkade around that end of the Beltline.

I really wish that they could of got that piece of crap apartment between them and Colours. It will look like an eyesore between the two.

I believe it's an affordable housing apartment building... and it will definitely be out of place between a luxury rental building and a luxury condo building. It could undergo some renovations especially around the front entrance.
