Surprised the complex hasn't got a cinema?! Still early days I suppose.

A movie complex was planned in the early days, before Time Warner I believe. The area needs it, the theater on 34th is always crowded, and that one spun off from the 42nd Street theaters which are always crowded. 34th Street used to be a quieter alternative, but no longer. Maybe in the second phase Related can consider it. They're talking about leasing the Neiman Marcus space to Facebook. If only a theater could have taken it. They'll be slow to come back too, but they definitely will.

Ah I see. Crazy how little cinemas there appear to be in Manhattan in general compared to cities like London.

Yeah, the ESB is opening next week. I have to do both, haven't been to the ESB since the remodeling of the deck.

Video shows the interior of Warner Media headquarters (HBO, CNN, etc)...

https://t.co/XW8vkXW9J1?amp=1

https://esidesign.com/work/warnermediahq/

Quote:
Opportunity: WarnerMedia came to ESI Design with a unique challenge for its new head office: Unite its world-class portfolio of brands (Warner Bros., HBO, CNN, Cartoon Network, TNT, etc.) for the first time both physically under one roof and symbolically under one brand.

Solution: ESI integrated digital media across the company’s 27 floors – from the main ground floor lobby to the sky lobby, screening floors, C-suite and workspaces. We created a unified architectural language of screens wrapped around corners to give a sense of dimensionality, and identified media content to highlight from the company’s vast universe of networks. ESI also designed two interactive touchscreens, taken from WarnerMedia data sources, to include the audience in the brand experience.

The showpiece is a 65-foot digital sculpture for the spiral staircase in the building’s glass “prow.” The sculpture’s seemingly random patterns of color and light are actually algorithmically-generated abstractions of WarnerMedia content. Tablets at the top and bottom of the staircase explain the content sources.

ESI also developed a custom Content Management System (CMS) that provides visual assets, scheduling and other operational logic for the WarnerMedia team to run the screens, including the ability to create “takeover” moments for big events like movie premieres.

This was reported in New York magazine a while ago, and we've seen a couple of images from the top of 30 Hudson....

And now, the latest Schedule A filing shows that in fact, there will be an "aerial adventure course". Good luck.

Also, there was some question about that second glass walkway underneath the ledge, and whether it was part of the deck experience. According to these documents, it's not currently for public use, though that could change. Maybe they'll put in a bunjee jump or skydive attraction, in the battle with One Vanderbilt's deck.

This should be fun watching everyone compete even though it's really the prices they should be looking at.

A perfect, and legal opportunity for all of the daredevils and thrill seekers that like to climb tall buildings. I can't even imagine.

Nothing could ever beat Philippe Petit though

Just to add I assume HY and 1V are having a race to be the 3rd/4th most popular observation deck? I think HY will win out due to it's position and how they can offer special discounts if you stay there.....after you've won the lottery of course
