2 were omited because they would be obvious favorites (1WTC because it is in the US and the one in China which is very tall).

Why is it that all the towers listed are either in the Middle East or Asia? Why should a tower be omitted just because it draws a good fanfare? Doesn’t that kind of defeat the purpose of a thread like this? I would make this a more geographically diversified poll.

No sorry, me liking the WTC has nothing to do with the fact that its in the US.
That doesn't even make any sense.

The tall one in Shanghai would have been my fifth pick and WTC might have made my top five of the options. On first glance, Mercury was my top pick because it stood out. As well as Sino-Steel.

My favourite is Shanghai Centre. None of the others even come close, IMO.

632m, 128 storeys, and a gorgeous design. How can you beat that?

I just wanted to make the poll more uniform as most of these towers are in Dubai or China, and one also stands out due to being about 2000 feet high. I do like 1 WTC and think it looks better than quite a few of the others however.

I'd prefer it if people voted for their favorite 5, or fewer if they only like fewer of them.

I voted for Mercury City Tower. It is the least boring in my opinion. I wish it were taller though

It strikes me that so many of them are so similar looking. I actually like the wavy glass aesthetic very much (the boxy crystal version less so), but they're all sort of interchangeable. It's enough of a cliche that I don't feel any are extraordinary... So I voted for Emirates Park, as the only one of the more unique-looking towers that isn't horribly out of proportion.

If I were to vote for one of the wavy glass ones on the list, I suppose would be the Guangzhou International Finance Center, however I think the London Shard and London Pinnacle (apparently too short to make the cut here) are better examples overall.

The Abraj Al Bait Towers will be one of the worst large things ever built by man.

Beyond that, all are, as noted previously, nearly identical, except for some of the god-awful stuff coming out of Dubai.

Is this the future of architecture?
