Multiple Union Disputes across BC

As has been pointed out to me, many unions contracts were signed right before the 2010 Olympics and have now come due. The BC NDP were elected on a platform of being "pro-union". It doesn't appear they've done anything yet to address these multiple union disputes. It looks like most of these disputes are proceeding towards full on strikes. Rather than say good or bad, I want to ask what people think the BC NDP will do? I see this as an incredibly sticky situation where the NDP are pushed to do differently than the Liberals but themselves find that they have no good solutions to choose from.

VANCOUVER -- The British Columbia government faces a "difficult balancing act" in dealing with labour strife among public-sector unions representing bus drivers in Metro Vancouver, teachers around the province, support staff on Vancouver Island and faculty members at a university in the north, a labour expert says.
