Alan Greenberger indicated today that it is one of the mayor's priorities to see that this project happens and that he is in contact with the principals and possible funding sources.

Article from July about the redevelopment of this moving forward. It will be turned into apartments and retail.

Finally one of Philadelphia's most notoriously vacant buildings will be revitalized.

The Goltex building really stands outs when coming on and off 676 and 95. I am a fan. Looks real modern.

Not to nit-pick--well, OK, to nit-pick --but the Wistar Institute is NOT a medical facility, i.e., patients are not treated there. It is a basic research facility, i.e., it's all laboratory research, albeit biological and medical research. In other words, it's pretty much all labs, with ancillary offices and meeting rooms. Here's a video tour of the new Fox Tower, courtesy of The Daily Pennsylvanian:

Has anyone been by the site lately? Last time I was in the area the facade had been cleaned and there was protective scaffolding being installed at street level. Any other activity?

I go by there often and haven't seen any activity recently. I thought the financing was in place so I'm not sure why the delay.

I live near it and I pass it every day on my way home from work. There is definitely some activity on site. Recently it looks like they've been stripping debris and scraps that had been left inside the building. They've dumped it all out the back side in between the main building and the annex. Stuff is happening, just not a whole ton of stuff.

"PennPraxis, Philadelphia Parks and Rec, and Fairmount Park Conservancy staffers were out in LOVE Park on 9.17.14 to collect ideas from the public about what a redesigned LOVE Park should include. You can share yours on 9.20.14 from 9-5 in LOVE Park or using #newlovepark."

Get to it people.

Sort of depressing and insane, and comical...,
The folks from PennPraxis and others are over in Love Park right now trying to seek cool design ideas from the public for the Love Park redesign. Meanwhile... You really can't talk or exchange ideas with those folks because the Black Israelites are on their PA system going particular wild right now probably less than 100 ft from the PennPraxis group..., "all white men are homosexuals!!!" All white men... This that and the other!" ..can't wait for Levy's group to clean up that mess.
I just walked over to Dilworth... I'm really liking it. So calm and clean. And Euro feeling. Peaceful!

Ok I'm done, go Birds!!
