San Antonio skyline from Tower of Americas over the years

It would be cool to see how the San Antonio skyline has changed over the years. The only spot I can think of where lots of people have taken the exact same picture is from the Tower of the Americas. Please post yours here with the date it was taken. Hi res pictures are OK because it will make for a nice animated GIF later on. I don't have one of my own handy, but the one in the next post is from circa 2010. The older (the more rare) the better.

San Antonio forum members:
Please go up the Tower of the Americas somewhat often in the near future. Frost is already almost topped out, but there are others that are just getting started, and there may soon be more. It would be awesome to build a collective photo documentary of the changes coming to San Antonio. You can take turns where somebody different goes up every month. That way if there are 12 of you (and me whenever I visit my mom), the commitment will be light.

This picture looks like it was taken in the late morning, based on where the sunlight is. Maybe lunch time or on a weekend.

If they all kinda match lighting-wise, they'd flow together well video or gif style.

That's the old NBC National Bank of San Antonio. It was built in 1957. It's still there, but it's been used as a hotel off and on over the years. The top was also renovated with a pyramid added to the roof.

It's still there.

Real shame it doesn't glow like that today. San Antonio needs to get in gear and modernize.

I agree with the need to modernize.

I like it too personally. Gives it sort of a Gotham vibe. I think it used to be an office tower back then though, wouldn't work with it being a hotel now.

Thanks. I thought that's what it is, just wasn't sure from the angle. It did look nice lit up like that, but I can see how it might not work for a hotel.
