So I decided to create my own large scale model ( an easy one ( cause was the first one)).
I have built the Empire state building with around 6,900 pieces and 6'4'' tall.

Here's a pic of my 1:202 scale model. Tell me what you think about it.

Dirty dirty tease.

I finished the Kwik E Mart yesterday. Cool build. Tons of grocery details that I really like.

Pretty tough act to follow Rocco in this thread!

Nevertheless, here are a couple of my recent builds of downtown buildings in my town:

What I would really like starting to see is people trying to build Lego buildings that actual Lego people could go in, (not that the ones im seeing now arnt awesome).

I didn't even know about this thread, this is something im very interested in.

What I would like to do one day (if I got the funds) would be to buy a hanger and build a whole Lego city in it as realistically as possible, (that would mean that the Lego people would need to be able fit inside the building).

Iv thought about Calgary Alberta and Kelowna BC, New York would take forever. I would need to get the blue prints of every building in the city which ever one it would be.....hopefully one day.

Any suggestions?

I generally build in "minifig" scale or close to it. If you do not mind going back to post 1374 on page 69 of this thread, you will see a 1/60 scale version of a the 40 story Guardian Building in Detroit. I also posted some of my earlier stuff starting all the way back on page 1 of this thread after Kevin of Texas's micro Austin.

Building Calgary in minifig scale would be quite an expensive undertaking so start saving your pennies and get a Bricklink account.

Chorduroy, your buildings are very nicely constructed. This intermediate scale between minifig and microscale can be a very challenging one in which to build.

Rocco, I will state the obvious - your downtown Chicago is looking very impressive. Next time you meet Spencer will you be quoting Darth Vader's words to Obi Wan from Star Wars ep. IV?

That would be a rather interesting conversation.

Me: "When I left you I was but a learner, now I am the master!"

Spencer: "Only a master of Chicago. There's a reason it's called the Second City."

It's been a while but I just finished this one tonight:

Atlanta's 191 Peachtree Tower with the Ritz-Carlton Atlanta.

The museum wing itself is quite striking! The pyramid, however... not so much. The introduction of some much-needed, corner cheese slopes would do this set some good!
