Nice pictures. Two questions though:

1) Did the 10,000,000 NTD cost include washing all the windows?

2) Why do I suddenly have an urge to by a 1080p HDTV?

Incredible. Even though some video clips (check YouTube) of a 100 plus story tower exploding in fire may be a little disconcerting, the spectacle must truly have been quite a signt to experience in person.

Wow what a spectacle, one year I will go to Taipei to bring in the new year. That's the largest firework display I think I've ever seen.

Too bad nothing like that will happen in the USA since the fire dept. here thinks that's literally impossible without setting the building on fire, even though it's done in other countries like Taiwan and Hong Kong every year.

What a pity. But great show for Taipei!

Thumbs up

I liked much. Since in Rio the fireworks are not in buildings anymore, lost I little bit the impression, for example cascade in Hotel Meridien. It looks for me great. Unfortunatly in television none was said. The most beautiful one seems to be already in Sydney. Unfortunatly I had never been in such places...

I guess this is the best place in the world to celebrate the new year since the taipei 101 is so iconic! Would have been great if Burj Dubai could have something like this when finished!

Why do Asian countries celebrate New Years Eve?... I guess it's good that Christianity has taken roots way over in East Asia.

Time Square, New York is still the best.

I swear they built this building for this purpose. Office space was an after thought.
