TURIN | Grattacielo Intesa San Paolo | 167 M / 549 FT | 39 FLOORS

Yesterday the last episode of S.Paolo tower in Turin. The problem of this high rise building is its highness: 200 m. People organized an association to say a big No to the tower and distributed a scary simulation/picture of the skyscraper in the city: in other words, no towers/obstacles between the Mole Antonelliana (the major landmark of Turin) and the amazing landscape of Alps. Renzo Piano answered them with some sketches. The association proposed a third simulation. Yesterday Renzo Piano proposed to reduce the highness of tower to 166 mt. instead of 200 mt. Nothing is gonna change... waiting for the 5th simulation.
If you are interested in this 100% italian story and in seeing the 4 simulations 1|2

From LaStampa (today)

^^ Right.

The thread title should read:
TURIN | Sao Paolo | 656 FT / 200 M | ? FLOORS

or

TORINO | Sao Paolo | 656 FT / 200 M | ? FLOORS

whichever you Italian forumers prefer.

ok. The place is TORINO (Italy). The financial company is called San Paolo/IMI. San Paolo is just the name of the bank that will be the owner of the tower.

Actually the project was delivered in june 2006, before San Paolo joined Intesa (August 2006). So, you can call it, San Paolo/IMI, or if you prefer Intesa/San Paolo.

But it's Turin in English.

Venezia --> Venice.
Roma --> Rome
Milano --> Milan
Firenze --> Florence
Napoli --> Naples
Genova --> Genoa
Padova --> Padua

So moderators, change it back to the proper English spelling.

aha! I knew the correct in italian was SaN Paolo, not Sao Paolo.

Sao with the O is only in portuguese.

english - Saint Paul
portuguese - São Paulo
italian - San Paolo
spanish - San Pablo
