I’m guessing this will be as popular as my “Great Canadian Pineapple Carving” thread.

I like Quebec the most because that huge half circle along Hudson bay could be a massive impact crater billions of years old.

I vote New Brunswick because I can, and nobody else will........

Nova Scotia is honourable mention because it makes geographic sense and resembles a lobster.

Saskatchewan is boring.

PEI. Can't argue with man-drawn imaginary lines when those happen to perfectly match the preexisting ("God-made") geography.

NL's borders shouldn't include Labrador; I'm certainly not voting for that. So PEI it is.

It probably isn't, but it's not ruled out. It's certainly a unique region. The area on the Ontario side, the lowlands, has the lowest amount of gravity on earth, and that's likely due to a combination of the weight of the ice sheet pushing the land down so far, and the crust in the area being thinner, and close to a convective hot-spot.

I voted for Nova Scotia btw. Quebec was a close second.

Nova Scotia doesn't really have any straight line borders either, its border with New Brunswick follows waterways for over half of its length, only being a straight line to cross the height of land.

Quebec's shape would look even better if we had Labrador.

Newfoundland + Labrador as a "cut out" map is incredibly ugly and looks totally off. Though as a I said the shape of the island only is really cool.

Wrong, I voted for NB as well - not just because I live there but because it looks like a sheep if you turn it sideways!

I did as well. I find this question rather silly, but my thinking was that New Brunswick is rather well shaped in terms of not being too big and having a shape that can justify a connected sense of infrastructure....there's no peninsulas or islands separated, it's just one mass.

I would have thought that Saskatchewan would be the obvious answer. All the others look messy by comparison.

NB is both the closest to a square and the closest to a circle.

I voted Sask. due to the clean lines.

Sask is atrociously unclean as a geometrical figure. At least Alberta has "square" borders + another well-defined border (the highest elevation line of a range), it's the one with the most appealing shape to my rational mind.

I posted this same question/poll a year and a half ago. Will be interesting to see how the results compare.

I did as well, because it's where I was born. Never heard it described as a sheep though, it's always been a duck to me.
