It probably isn't, but it's not ruled out. It's certainly a unique region. The area on the Ontario side, the lowlands, has the lowest amount of gravity on earth, and that's likely due to a combination of the weight of the ice sheet pushing the land down so far, and the crust in the area being thinner, and close to a convective hot-spot.
I voted for Nova Scotia btw. Quebec was a close second.

Nova Scotia doesn't really have any straight line borders either, its border with New Brunswick follows waterways for over half of its length, only being a straight line to cross the height of land.
