Come on, how are they going to trace it back to Newnan_Eric?

I’ve lived in the City since 1998 and Grant Park since 2002. I would have NEVER imagined Memorial Drive as a residential/retail corridor. Mi dios this city is growing like mad. I just drove Memorial for the first time in 2 months and just the amount of change and whole feel of the corridor from downtown to Bill Kennedy is AMAZING. I just can’t get over how it feels and looks so different from just a year ago.

It's becoming one of the most dense corridors in metro Atlanta! Quite the change. Atlanta Dairies could really make it a magnet of the area, too.

Goes to show how much opportunity Atlanta has if we continue to up our land use and architecture design game. Right now, we're still nowhere near where we should be and it is already making a significant impact.

The rendering you all are posting is from the previous development proposed on the site which fell through. It was done by SmithDalia Architects. The images the person pulled them from are from the AIA Georgia Design Awards as it is being submitted for "Unbuilt Projects".

Not surprising Atlanta3000 was all about posting unsubstantiated rumours

I for one am grateful someone tries to find stuff before it is public common knowledge.

Plus, Smith Dalia Architects is a great local firm who does incredible design work. If all of our city was designed by SDA we’d have a much more livable and aesthetically pleasing city.

Finally, no shame in getting worked up- that was a quality rendering. We should want to see all renderings, not just what makes it out of the ground.

I think it's just anyone that's in the know doesn't want to post more than a few hints on here for two reasons - 1. we don't want to doxx ourselves, 2. we don't want to break confidentiality agreements.

This is true. I see it as different news comes from different sources and people should learn to manage expectations about what they read online. That goes for readers just as if not more than those who post content. We know 3000 pulls images from all over, which could be anything and everything. We also know he’s connected with journalists, so a lot of his info also has merit. Either way, I think the SDA renderings were an excellent share. This board was so excited for a quality rendering! How refreshing to have an inspiring design for the city that people were excited for.

thanks for your input Street - always appreciate it.

i think (hope) those awesome renderings preclude anything of poor design and function being proposed for that beautiful site!

Speaking of getting people hype- New City’s GA Power parking lot is void of all trucks and equipment. Office building equipment removed, too.

Literally spit my beer out...ah that guy was nuts, entertaining though

Beautiful design though, hopefully we see more stuff like that in the future.

Re: Summerhill Project

I drive over there a lot and the (student) apartments have a good street presence, especially once they get the sidewalk in place. Also, most the exterior appears to be brick, which is refreshing in its simplicity rather than the board and batten painted in 5 different colors and other unnecessary architectural flourishes we see on some of these multifamily projects trying to dress up a pig.

The project is quality infill and I look forward to seeing how the rest of the area develops in the coming years.

Wow.....that is reassuring. Although I hate the idea of another giant parking deck, the design looks to be better than most and hopefully will free up parking elsewhere as planned.

The formerly leased lots will be made available for future active development. Emory also plans to subsidize MARTA passes at 100 percent for all its employees. It’s part of its plans to promote alternative ways of travel in anticipation of more density. The deck will have rideshare zones, commuter bicycle facilities and increased electric charging stations.
