I actually don't mind them either BUT at least one of the towers should of been a bit taller to mix it up. Plus this style would definitely of looked better on a taller building.

I just hate how they have zero activation with the street. They are the same as the apartment blocks that Hamilton is know for and is no better for with unused grass surrounding them. They look like a chopped off top of a tower that will look ugly and dated in 20 years again, just like all the luxury apartments that are now gross and filled with bedbugs.

I think it is sometime between now and sometime later, though I'm not 100 percent on it, so don't quote me.

great pic. I walk that stretch of Robinson every day, I like the mid rise mid density canyon. This must be from Bay 200.

The city is against canyons to prevent areas from being in perpetual shadow..

Well.. at least.. NOW they are against it hehe.. as we all know there are areas in the west end that are already like that, like the apartment areas around hess area.

It's why you will be hard pressed to find any new developments where there is a huge new building on one side AND on the other side. diagonally sure, but not right across from each other.

They want more designs like the william thomas building - where you got a 3-6 story storefront type area/parking garage/podium/commercial area and then a condo set back that towers up - like the new development going up on king and hughson st where the old bingo hall was.

The only new canyon area I can think is that george st development but that one road set in perpetual shadow is barely used by anyone so I don't think they particularly cared.

Perhaps they learned from the oppressive stalinistic botch job of the jackson square monoliths and AGH area where you just feel closed in and both sides feel unwelcoming and unfriendly.

..but I digress. I think it would have been cool if the above designs had been staggered at different heights to give it a bit of a diversity - it is true what a lot of people say - it feels like a giant building design that has sunk 2/3s into the ground - the design feels too stunted - still it's a nice look regardless, and kudos on the peaked style roofs and not just another flat roof design.

This is from over a month ago already but I havent been by since. There was patio furniture on balconies at that point already and I've seen apartments for rent since then. I think this project is finally actually complete!

this landscaping feature was recently added... Was the site originally a curling rink?

The Thistle Club was also the site of the first ever indoor tennis court built in Canada.
