Looks like it's 4 or 5 floors from the Frost webcam. Anybody have a recent photo?

Here's a quick update of the construction. This is what you would see while driving on Broadway.Taken on 1/7/19

The following 2 pictures is the back of the building that's on the corner of Pearl Parkway

The following is the building on the corner of Grayson

The view you see so far from the pearl parking lot

Hopefully they will burry the electric wires soon as density and development continues along Broadway.
Also, does anyone know if there have been any plans released about the lots across the street from this? Because it seems like they really cleared out the lots.

Not sure if the design changed or if I just missed updated information but last time I checked I thought this was supposed to be a 10 story and a 5 story office building. Both buildings are currently on floor 7... can anyone shed some light here?

Not sure if there are any concrete plans just yet, but gensler has the master plan for the area.

https://www.gensler.com/projects/low...ay-master-plan

As much as the areas booming, I’m sure more will be announced soon. I think I remember the land around golden social was preparing for development.

So the smaller building seems to have topped out at 7 stories... the thread title should reflect this, please and thank you!

Nice view there. You can also see the top of the pyramid at the botanical gardens.

The thing at the Pearl looks unfinished. Or burned.

Agreed. I like the front of the cellars building, but I don't like the burnt orange/red bricks on the back part of the building with the dark tile on top. It would of just made more sense to make it all the same beige color brick all around.

I agree....

I like the contrast in colors as well....

After all, this is the Pearl home to the Hotel Emma....

And both of these developments been awarded numerous accolades in recent years and months....

For the building's exterior design?

I'm not talking about the Emma building. I mean the reddish one with the blackish top. Do you have a picture where it looks good?

You can see it in this link. But it looks pretty cheap and blah in my opinion. Especially next to the great old Pearl buildings.

Yes , the developments have received accolades for overall design. So apparently the area you are talking about does not seem to matter to people who give out these world recognized accolades.

Who are they? What are their names? I would like to direct my silent scorn in their general direction.

(edit)
Wait. Overall the design of the Pearl is awesome. So if they're giving out awards for overall design, you're right... one bad exterior design would probably not affect other criteria for the complex as a whole... criteria such as re-use of existing buildings, public space, hotel rooms, Riverwalk expansion, traffic flow, etc.

So my criticism for the one building's exterior appearance in and of itself stands and I feel confident about it.
