I am all for these spaces to be turned into towers, but no way in front of BofA - even if it would be 500 ft...and that is something you would never hear me say about anything taller than 300 ft!

I feel like something close to the Wilshire Grand in LA (design wise) would help balance out the skyline. Especially with the Frost Tower. I drove by that last night, and it's going to look stunning at night when it's complete.

mmmm.. I could see that. I do think SA should steer clear from all glass towers tho (frost excluded). I'd die to see a 60 floor pink granite slender tower with a spire/crown

I get ya there. Love glass but all-glass landscapes can be uninspired and bland. I'd like to see something like you mentioned but incorporate modern elements too, maybe mixed with glass. And a spire would look awesome, though I also think a maybe a glass type crown would be spectacular.

Just not a big rectangle please.

That would be a great building. I thought that the 1201 Third Avenue building in Seattle would work nicely for our downtown. A good mix of old and new.

But I'll at a time when buildings were constructed within a reasonable timeframe.

This is a perfect design for San Antonio's downtown landscape.

Not bad!

Here are a few I think would be interesting to model after:

The MesseTurm in Frankfurt, Germany:

Torre de Cristal in Madrid: (glass)

Ocean financial centre in Singapore: (also glass)

I like all three of those. the only thing I worry about with a large glass tower is that it will dwarf the rest of downtown like the Devon Tower in Oklahoma City.

That is not to say that I don't like the glass buildings. Overall though I really like the MesseTurm in Frankfurt that you showed. That would be a great building for San Antonio. I would not balk at getting any of those, but I think that one would fit more into the spirit of the city.

I think I just meant the designs overall...it could definitely be scaled back a bit to fit more with our current skyline so it doesn't dwarf everything. And yes I love the MesseTurm.

With that in mind, I would love a (slightly) scaled down version of the Torre de Cristal in Madrid. That would look awesome and would fit in nicely with the new Frost Tower. Which would make sense since it is a Pelli building. At 52 stories, it does not have to be scaled down much, if at all.

Speaking of Pelli, a version of the Wells Fargo Center in Minneapolis would look great.

I like. It has an early 20th century NYC vibe to it, would look cool with some modern elements.

Let's propose all the above to some investors!! Haha
