^ Really?? Are you sure? You must know about things I ignore.
My bad, quickly googling it lead me to UBS.

The Emirates are super! This building they're giving to us is cooler than most of their own!
Lol! Bless 'em.

We're enjoying this idea of double-layer cladding panels put up in that fish scale fashion.

It's looking very cool at dusk in particular.

Refreshing! Very contemporary. Just too bad and sad it won't be twice as tall.
It will be 160m / 525-foot tall for its 38 storeys.

Pictures by ZeusUpsistos, major local contributor along with Vincent and Q_DC, I got to say.

I LOVE the facade on this one. It's like scales on a snake. A very modern, glassy snake.

Worthwhile to show off a bit of this one.

Too bad it wouldn't be any taller. Its moderate height makes it look bulkier than it should be, but materials are good looking from this distance.
Let's have a closer look at these materials if you will.

All pictures by ZeusUpsistos on pass-archi.eu.
Many thanks to him for his hard work to update the threads all over the French-speaking forums.

Well, they keep on insisting on the old International style, but it's not bad at all to this tower, thanks to the double-layer cladding.
Again, this type of materials is due to the latest environmental regulation to enforce power-efficiency.
These buildings are supposed to not be excessively greedy in that matter.

I feel like the skyscraper world and global tourists are sleeping a bit on La Défense because it's outside of the familiar oldness of Paris itself, and doesn't yet have a supertall...but honestly the quality and innovation of the architecture here is second to none.

I'll second that. Such great modern architecture going up in La Defense.

Ah, thank you guys, your words are some real comfort.
You can't actually realize 'cause you're no locals, but it often happens to be annoying to have the old historic town nearby.

That's why we don't have any supertall yet. They jealously defend or protect the so-called prestige of their silly ancient little neighborhoods, with their sorry souls full of nimbyism; inventing whatever nasty regulation to prevent any building from featuring floors beyond their 200m threshold. Like their impossible safety regulation. No building would surpass 200m since they would pass such a dumb regulation.

I believe it's all cynical from them, ended up thinking they don't really want any suburb like la Défense to grow more prestigious or showy than they are, them self-centered pricks... Gosh, it's been annoying like a burden. It's even worse than annoying, it's been destructive, stupid, ruining the lives of too many in the suburbs to some extent.
Selfish assholes...

And then they're pissed at you when you humiliate them on social media. I swear I don't care.
Hey, screw them! We should have had some supertalls and shiny high-rise housing over the area by now, to draw more people and money over the district.
But they want the super rich and their money in Central Paris exclusively. I just won't understand that kind of pitiful mindset opposing progress.

This may be seen as complete by now, no longer under construction.
I'm adding a few pics to let people on here know.

I don't really know what this was. There was a couple of supposedly Venezuelan food trucks and a small group of French tourists (not from the region) lost somewhere at the end of the esplanade.
I'd never seen a scene like this right there, so I took it in picture with a bit of the tower hidden in the background.
