Hopefully, it's more of a red than brown. But it can always be painted.

The commerce side can possibly be painted over with art.

I will reserve my judgment until it's done.

This has nothing to do with the HDRC.

OK both street facades are bad, but no, I am referring to the blank gray space next to the decapitated front of the Fish Market building, which they are sticking back on to the building like a Leatherface mask.

After seeing all that brown I'm not as excited about this project as I once was...

I will say that the elevations and renderings show views that don’t exist in real life.

In real life, the building will be seen in glimpses through other buildings.

It's a very ugly building, but better looking buildings will be partially obscuring it? That works both ways. Now this ugly building will be obscuring the views of pretty buildings!

I think it’s going to be a great building.

My point is that when you look at a rendering of flat colors, it doesn’t do it justice. From the perspective of a pedestrian walking around, it will make almost no difference if the top half of the building is brick or brick-colored plaster. But when you look at the rendering, it’s from an impossible angle where you see the whole building at once.

Raul is a great photographer, and must be climbing on top of some building to get good pictures of the entirety of the tower. The real life view will be different.

That's fine, but my point is the street and river levels are the worst part, and the HDRC seems to agree. This design was only approved with the following condition, among others: "That traditional materials such as brick, limestone and other masonry materials should be used at the River Walk and street levels and arranged in a way that provide an interactive, human scale that relates to pedestrians at the street and river levels."

I think it will be great and I can't for the residential building to be built next to it. It's going to be a beautiful collection of high tier mid-rises. I'm excited about what this is going to be. Besides, it will add to the density of the area. The view from the highway will be blocked, I'm excited about the element it will add to the street level with pedestrian traffic. Especially across the street from the Aztec and the new bar there.

I really hope the parking lot next to Hard Rock and the old Planet Hollywood becomes something grand.

To be quite honest and with all due respect to your opinion on the matter, I don't see bickering. I see a conversation in which people have discussed points of the design of this building and have given each other information... a conversation which has given me a bit more knowledge about the building as well.

(Unless some replies have been removed, then I may be mistaken because I don't see the whole story. But what I see in the above replies is all within good taste as far as I'm concerned.)

I should have clarified in my last post. Many posts were removed. Hence the message to get back on topic.

I know it off topic but the main plaza is so blah. It looks unfinished to my eye and is lacking...what its lacking? I couldn't tell you but it needs something more.
