New Supertall Skyscrapers in Manhattan?

Why won't more design firms build more supertall skyscrapers of 150 floors or higher in New York City??? The New York Skyline seems forever embalmed!
Shouldn't we be investing in new supertall skyscrapers to compete with China and Dubai?

We ( as a nation ) shouldn't have to worry about competing with anyone with
regards to super talls . If the Hudson Spier is built ( 1800 +ft. ) and that isn't
tall enough for you , than maybe you can move to Chicago , where they want
to build the Post Office Redevelopment Building , at a scant 2000 Ft .

That should give anyone a nose bleed !

Supertall skyscrapers are nice to see being built, but what needs to happen is viability. Is the project viable & sustainable. NYC is building an enormous amount of tall towers throughout Manhattan. NYC is doing just fine. Welcome to Skyscraperpage, too. Always welcome enthusiasts to the site. Look forward to more postings from you.
