I really like this one. It has a nice slender profile.

It should be clearer by the end of May how sales of projects launched so far this year are doing, but early indications are that first-time buyers are looking again, especially in the 416 region, says Jim Ritchie, vice-president of Tridel, which hopes to start construction on its Ten York project by the end of 2013 and has sold 620 of the building's 694 units.

I disappointed that 10 York has been downsized further to 224m.
http://www.toronto.ca/legdocs/mmis/2...file-51448.pdf

I had high hopes (no pun intended) that this would break 250m at least. I recall early proposals being in the 275m range. I would much prefer it nearer the taller side than the lower. Still, I guess even 224m isn't to be sniffed at. We're just lucky in Toronto to have so many proposals and construction above 200m that 224m is a disappointment.

^I agree. Wasn't it the city or NIMBY whinging that led to the reduction? Still, I'll take it at 224 than for it be cancelled outright.

Yes, so both sides lost. Toronto got a shrunk tower, and the NIMBYs still have a building that blocks their view of the lake. You'd have to shrink this down to 4-5 floors to satisfy them, so the height reduction accomplished nothing.

Haha, true, but they likely see any concession to their demands as a victory. Control freaks.

Someone should change this to reflect the new height of 224m. I was hoping for the original 253m but what can you do I guess a nice 734ft tower is nothing to get disappointed about.

That's a good sign! Won't be too long relatively until we see this one rise.

I am really excited to see how it will look when it completes. I'm not sure but I'm getting an image of 1 king street Toronto.

Driving east on the Gardiner it might have some resemblance loosely to 1 King West. I can see what you're thinking.

blue glass has feelings, too
but yes, you do have a point -- if everything looks the same the area won't age well
