That 2nd to last shot.

NY is one of those cities that you can look at the same angle, the same point of view facing some direction, a shot that has been taken probally millions of times from 1 WTC, and it never gets old. To the point where the same perspective can still blow you away.

You can also see 270 Park as its coming down. Its just, and pardon my Jersey accent, "fuukin nuts" that 270 Park will be taller... TO THE ROOF... than the top portion 1 Vandys Spire or from the pics perspective, right around the edge of the top border (use 432 Park to see what I mean). A bulkier tower dimensions wise too!

I guess the one negative is that 1 Vandy will somewhat mask it from the angle, but its going to look wickedly spicy from Queens or waterfront portions of Brooklyn (E.River).

Its the top of this building, staggered and with a spire, that makes it the best top of all supertalls in NYC. IMO there is really nothing ugly about any part of this tower. Kudos!

Although, original schedule had it completed in Jan 2020. Looks more like a summer 2020 finish.

It's the skyline element that makes the best of the NY skyscrapers stand out and become familiar icons around the world. CPT may be taller, but this one is more memorable.

Does anyone know where they put the top of the spire as they're working on the other side?

It was usually at ground level, but I haven't really looked for it.

I really like this building, but the spire is too short. Post 4042 gives the illusion that the crane is the spire, affixed to the building in that position. Looks great! Imagine of that was the reality.

They removed the top piece of the spire, it'll be back on soon
