Awesome how the office building will be nearly 100' higher than 1010. I'm impressed with the height on 1010, so this thing is going to be the dank dizzle.

Topped Out

The Hotel topped out earlier this week...you can see the tree from the topping out ceremony. I can't wait to see the Office tower even taller than 1010.

I can't wait, either. This project is really adding a lot to the density of Midtown, viewing from the South around Downtown especially. If it will ever get above freezing out here, I'll head out with my camera.

I live in the Metropolis bldg (North Tower) and my balcony overlooks the Loews project.

Took this pic on Feb 7, 2009.

If you look very closely, you can see the topping-out tree on the upper left corner of the building.

sunset

And a sunset pic from Feb 6, 2009.

This building has done something I never expected. Since I live on the north face of my building, direct sunlight isn't something I get into my windows.

However, for about 15 minutes every evening, I now get blazing sun reflected off the Loews into my condo. The first day it happened (which only started around Feb 1 when they got glass up to a certain level), I couldn't figure out why my place looked so different. Then it struck me - SUN !!! Glorious sun straight from due north. How odd...
