It's exciting to see interest in River North in these pages! There is a lot of buy-in for the direction of the plan, which you can download from the Downtown Alliance hompage - http://downtownsanantonio.org/rivernorth.html

Rio-2 is an overlay that applies to part of River North. As is, the overlay limits construction to 120 feet in height. On the River, an additional analysis must be done to make sure shade and shadow don't compromise minimum hours of sun on the New Riverwalk.

The master plan is proposed as a form based code to be adopted by City Council in the first quarter of 2008, after review and approval by planning and zoning commissions. A momentous occasion, as this is new to our community and the region. In the proposed plan, densities are governed by code and vary by sectors within the district. some areas will be three-four stories in height, and some sites will be allowed 200 feet or perhaps more.

Exciting times indeed!

Andres, I appealed your vision and your fortitude in getting your vision to become a reality. River North will not only transform downtown but the entire city. Thank you.

Andres, two questions:

Is there any talk of a new at&t HQ tower (of course at&t must consolidate all their other buildings)?

What is the latest on the Kress building/W Hotel?

That Is one of the reasons I love this Project do much! It look like the majority of the people dig this and they will see that a streetcar will be a nice little addition to this great project and be cool with it coming to SA

Go to

for the latest on the River North master plan.

Streetcar is proposed. The tallest buidlings might reach 20 stories. Mixed use, mid rise, high residential density is the goal for the majority of the district.

I absolutely love the rendering of Avenue B with a trolley line running through it.
