No they still have the ramp in place. They will probably be doing some work now for the crane base or be bringing bigger machines down into the pit. We'll just have to see.

My thinking is that they are probably waiting for the crane to be ready, its quite possible that its either on another site, or was recently removed from one. So until its ready to be installed there really isn't much to be done, though the fact the ramp is there does suggest to me that they may have some more minor excavation type work to do (installing crane bases generally doesn't require having the ramp still in place except it does mean they don't need to close the road off to deliver the parts of the crane if they can simply drive it into the pit.

It would be nice to see a crane on site soon, I hope Mersar's opinion is the reason why we are waiting on something to happen further at the site.

More cranes for the Calgary crane count: http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=141536

I like these towers alot but the heritagesque podium is hideous. I think it would look much better if it were done in pomo style but kept the same scale as the buildings around it (no more than 3 stories).

The podium is a common complaint among Calgary forumers. The city has eased off on pushing the historicist look, and many of the newer projects have gone to more modern styled podiums.

That looks like a pretty big pit. Are they building the parkade for the third tower at the same time?

Another excavator was being unloaded at the site this morning, so that makes 2 excavators and the pile-driver looking truck on site again.

My imageshack account is acting up but I'll post a picture from yesterday soon.

Thanks for the updates Bigtime. You definitely have the best angle!

Here's an image I hadn't seen before. It was in Volume 2008, Issue 01 of Vertical Living magazine. (verticalliving.ca)
